AI is everywhere—and I get how easy it is to feel skeptical or annoyed by it.
But if you’ve been putting off starting a membership because you’re overwhelmed by content creation, sales emails, or “figuring it all out,” AI can actually be a powerful ally.
Use it to speed things up—not to sound like someone (or something) you’re not.
In this post, I’ll walk you through how to use AI to build a membership that’s efficient, strategic, and still 100% you.
First, you’ll want to prime your AI tool to get to know your voice, tone, and quirks.
This post is based on Episode 12 of my upcoming podcast, Beyond 1:1, launching soon! If you want to be the first to know when it’s live, join my email list.
If you’re stuck on what type of membership to create, AI can help generate ideas based on your expertise and audience.
Try asking ChatGPT:
“What are 10 membership ideas for [your niche]?”
“What problems do [your audience] face that a membership could solve?”
“What are trending topics in [your industry] that could become a membership?”
These are very basic prompts. The more details you give your AI tool, the better your output will be. If you already have existing content like blog posts, social media posts, feed them to your AI tool and have it evaluate your brand voice & tone. Super helpful!
Let’s say you’re a fertility coach who specializes in mindset work. You could ask:
“What kind of membership models would work for women trying to conceive, focused on emotional support and nervous system regulation?”
→ AI might give you support group structures, audio resource ideas, or journaling-based content flows. From there, you choose what fits.
AI should give you raw material, but YOU make the final decision.
Think of this like Google Maps for your members. AI can help you outline what they should learn, in what order, and how long it might take to complete each piece.
Prompt ideas:
“Outline a beginner-friendly roadmap for people new to [your topic]”
“What are the biggest mindset shifts someone needs before reaching [transformation]?”
Example: A productivity coach could ask, “What’s a 4-week pathway for a member to go from scattered to structured?”
AI is great at filling in the blanks once you set the direction.
You could ask:
“What Q&A topics pair well with a lesson on [topic]?”
“List 5 creative ways to engage members around [monthly theme].”
✨ Bonus tip: Feed it your actual member questions or testimonials to generate responses that sound more human than generic.
One of the easiest and most helpful ways to use AI in your membership is for drafting emails and sales copy. This doesn’t mean handing over your voice—it means getting a helpful head start so you’re not staring at a blinking cursor for 40 minutes.
Here’s the reframe:
Let AI write the first draft. Then you do the magic.
Think of it like a brainstorming buddy who can help you structure your thoughts, organize ideas, or get a rough version on the page—so you can focus on editing it into something that sounds like you.
Let’s say you’re onboarding members into a nervous system education membership. You want your first few emails to feel supportive, soothing, and clear—not salesy or robotic.
You could ask:
“Write 3 welcome emails for a paid membership that teaches nervous system education. The tone should be warm, encouraging, and clear. The emails should help new members feel confident, connected, and understand where to start.”
That prompt gives AI enough context to work with and reminds it of your voice. What you’ll get back will likely be a decent structure—but it’s up to you to finesse the tone.
You’re not using AI to replace your voice. You’re using it to skip the blank page and jump straight to the shaping part.
💡 Bottom line:
AI is your draft buddy, not your ghostwriter.
Use it to hold the bones—then layer in the heart.
While AI is a fantastic tool, some things should stay fully human in your membership.
🚫 Your Personal Stories
AI can’t replicate the moment you decided to launch this offer, or what that one client said that shifted everything. Keep those human.
🚫 Deep Coaching & Advice
Your nuance, intuition, and pattern recognition are what people pay for. AI might know “tips,” but you know transformation.
🚫 Community Leadership
AI can write prompts. You build culture. Show up with care.
AI is your co-pilot. Your filter. Your structure-builder.
But you’re the one with the voice, the story, and the lived experience.
Take 5–10 minutes today to let AI help with one thing:
Then—here’s the key—make it yours. Add your words, your voice, your magic.
You’ve now mapped your membership.
You’ve simplified your systems.
You’ve started turning your ideas into reality—your way.
Whether you’re building solo, slowly, or with support, just know:
This work is allowed to feel sustainable. Strategic. Even easeful.
If you want a clear map to keep going, that’s what Membership Tech Blueprint is for.
→ I’ll help you plan the backend so you can stay focused on the front.
